I think the hard part is just that whenever I do something I love, it's alone these days, which makes the part about my birthday being... well, my birthday, as opposed to our birthday, so much harder. No matter how alone I might have been before, if sis_r wasn't with me, I had her to talk to a couple times a day. It just feels overwhelmingly lonely. But enough about that! I need to hunker down and figure something out.
