Okay, I just wasn't happy with one teensy little four-frame clip in Loaded Gun and so I put in the new clip (Dom's adorable little finger twist at Race Wars when he tells Johnny Tran that Jesse "went to the car wash"). And re-uploaded the vid. I'm sorry! I would be annoyed with me, too. It's really insignificant to anyone else but me, because I did it mostly for the final file that I will use when I make my vid collection DVDs. (Yes, the ones that I cannot even seem to give away, that almost no one ever asks for...)

Sorry! I have a hard time letting go of things.

I downloaded the new version! I want to have the one you're happiest with!

I was in a funk today, and I wanted you to know that I watched that vid about four times, and it helped. :)

Oh, thank you for telling me that. Though I don't want you to be in a funk, the idea of being able to create something that makes people feel a little better is the best kind of fb I could ever get, especially these days, when I seem unable to make myself feel better. So I loeve being able to contribute to someone else's enjoyment.

Yeppers... though, are you coming to VVC this year by any chance? I'm planning to make some discs of the new WIP and bring them for friends. There's not a whole heck of a lot there yet, but as they say, what's there is cherce. I think, anyway. ;-)

I wish I could, but no, not planning on being at VVC.

Can you drop me an email with your address to maygra [at] bellsouth [dot] net? If you've got other stuff in the works, I don't mind waiting. or it can wait until after that. I'd like to see the redone Loaded Gun, but it may be this weekend before I download it. (That's assuming the rainstorms pass. nothing so frustrating as having the power go off every 20 minutes or so. It just flickers, comes right back on, but I've had to reset my alarm clock so many times, I swear I'm buying one I have to wind up.)

*hugs* And here I always feel guilty asking you for one, but I do it anyway... *sheepish grin*

Do you know which DVD you have -- is it the first one, with the Band of Brothers vid, or the second one, which was kind of a WIP until just recently? The second one filled out a little bit just recently, and then I finalized it and started a new WIP disc with the more recent vid for VVC and this F&F one. (Geez, how many acronyms can I make?) Whichever one it is I can arrange to get you the newer one(s).

Hee! You are so cute. I want to live inside this vid. (Does that even make sense?)

I'd love to have a DVD of the new things not on the DVD from last VVC. (Tumbling Dice! Mag 7!
Loaded Gun! LFN! Assorted Secret Projects!) People steal my mail, though, so it would be better to pick it up at VVC. Is that okay?

I will try to remember to make you a disc for both the finalized version of Bride of Don't Fight in the Snow, and this new one (I think we'll call it Son of Don't Fight in the Snow). My brain is like a seive these days, though, so if you feel like nudging me, please don't worry about offending me, because I need nudges!

Right. Downloaded the new version (fortunately, I hadn't had time to watch the previous one, so my perceptions are unsullied...well, for the vid, in any case.).

This is a song I normally wouldn't think much of if I'd heard it by itself. However, it fits so nicely with the way you've put the visuals together that it comes across as much better than it is.
As for the vid as a whole--

What I enjoy the most is the use of parallel clips. I hadn't realized until watching this that there were so many scenes throughout the movie where Brian and Dom have almost the exact same actions. Putting them together here really highlights that, and, in a way, explains why they would be drawn to each other in the film. Very, very nice.

I also enjoyed the use of the quick cuts--flashes, I guess I'd call 'em. I've been doing some painfully basic playing around in Premiere, and putting together short, rapid sequences like that are brutally hard (and makes me miss the relative ease of splicing Super 8). Very impressive there.

This has a very strong narrative thread, but not heavy-handed. A lot of nice flow within it, too.

Finally, I really liked the way you edited this so that sometimes a clip started/ended on a beat, and sometimes it was action within a clip that hit the beat. That provided a lot of variety while still following the musical rhythm.

Thank you! I'm sorry that Premiere is painful, though I can't say I find Final Cut to be a pleasant walk in the park. I have a feeling no matter what you use, video making is just plain agony, period.

It's all some sick joke on the programmer's part. I'm sure of it!

LOL, this is so cute.

What? Another chance for me to squee over the vid? How dare you!?

Since you've mentioned DVDs, I need In a Big Country and Rolling Dice on disk. (That's the name of the latter, right? You know what I mean.)

Oh, Tumbling Dice. You should have reminded me when you were here! It's just a half hour or so to make them.
