I finished my Angel/Lindsey vid last night. I'm not especially happy with some of it, so I need to spend some time reworking parts, but I like some of it, so hopefully I will be able to post that soon. The more time I spend on it, the more mystified I am that a) there is not more Angel/Lindsey slashing going on, and b) anyone can actually say with a straight face that Angel was not a homoerotic show. I mean... just this clip with Lindsey, in You're Welcome, confronting Angel with his sword, and all Lindsey has is a little knife, and he holds it down by his... hip, yeah, his hip, and it magically... er, lengthens. Into a sword. Uh-huh. Yup, this is as straight as a series could be. No homoerotic metaphors here, no sir. This has been a hard vid to make but also fun, just to see how much those two want each other.

Also, I would adore an Angel/Lindsey icon, but I have never seen one on Buffy icons, ever. Anyone know of a place to get one?

The Mag 7 cave/cabin in the woods story is at the beta, and I hope to get it back this weekend. I want to continue to tweak it, but that may also be ready soon. Measure ch. 10 is taking a little bit longer because I have some stupid plot holes that I wrote myself into and need to figure out how to fix.

For the past ... well, many years, I've posted stories on my birthday just because I always thought it was a fun thing to do, and I usually had a story around that time. I don't have the energy or emotional stability this year to do much besides weep on that day, so no story this year for those of you who know about my little tradition. The Mag 7 coming soon will have to suffice.

I hope people on my flist will post their holiday wishes via that meme that went around last year. Then I wasn't able to do much to grant any, but this year I probably can and I want to see what it is that people want!

Oh, these are gorgeous, and so are the ones at your own userpics page. Some of those are just breathtaking, and your banner on your main journal pages is gorgeous. Would it be all right if I took some of them, with credit, of course? I don't know how shareable they are.

I have not watched that new series with him playing the husband. I know I should, but that show reads as if it was designed exactly to make me hate it (it has all the specs of the kind of thing I loathe), but I'm awfully curious about *him*.

Christian's new show isn't that great, he's only in it for 3-5 minutes an episode. I do have the clips of him from the 5 they've show so far if you want them. I can email them to you. He's very very pretty in it. ;)

I grabbed a bunch at your site, I just loved them all so much. Thank you so much for being willing to share them, and I took all the credits just as you had them.

Don't trouble yourself for the clips, though I thank you for the thought. I think I will try to make a point of grabbing the show when I can, just to see him. That was what I feared, that he would only be in a few minutes from time to time. What a waste of gorgeous maleness!

Yeah, he's not in it much at all. But then again, Christian's not the main character, the lady playing his wife is. But since his name is in the credits, that means we get to see him in every episode. Usually I sit through about 41 minutes of show that's semi-good (but could be a lot better if the lead character wasn't such an overemotional thing), to see 3 minutes of him being sexy as hell.

I don't think the show is going to be on too much longer, they've already moved it from Tuesdays to Fridays, and everyone knows Fridays are like the day of doom for tv shows. That and they haven't signed it for a full season. So far they've shown 5 episodes, episode 6 is tonight, and I think there are only 13 total.

The man is gorgeous and it's a waste of his talent to only have him in the show for such a short period of time.

On the other hand, the little baby in the show clearly likes him a lot more than she likes the mother because she's always reaching out for him, or crying with the mother picks her up. heeheehee

And I do have all of the episodes so far on cd. Wouldn't take much for me to make a copy and send it. ;)

Mag7 coming soon works for me and you almost make me wish I had ever gotten into/watched Buffy or Angel, becasue you seem to find so much about it to love and I never could. I totally envy you that.

Any status on Ciudad or should I not ask and let you get to it or not in your own time? (Which, uhm, probably would work better if I hadn't just asked.)

I started on Ciudad but I stopped it for lack of inspiration and also to finish the Mag 7. I plan to finish it, but it's not exactly burning a hole in my brain right now. Probably once I'm done with this stuff.

I have a feeling that if you watched Angel from the start you would like Lindsey and Angel. I don't know why, but they seem like the kind of characters and pairing you would enjoy. Sadly, Lindsey left towards the end of S2, but he came back for some eps in S5.

Aw, crap.

See, I keep failing at giving people gifts from their wish lists, even when they're just mix CDs or fic or something. So I feel hypocritical and greedy making my own list, not to mention totally vain. Then there's the fact that I can't think of anything to put on it except for big stuff like the DVD sets of BoB, Deadwood, and Mag 7.

I also adore Angel/Lindsey (Christian Kane is just too pretty - evil hand and all) and can't understand the lack of fic. I mean, yes there is fic and at least a couple of lists/communities dedicated to them, with the size of the fandom you'd think more people would 'get it'.

I'm so looking forward to your vid and your Mag7 fic. Don't worry about trying to put out what other people are looking for, just focus on what brings you pleasure/comfort. Anything you write or vid is a pleasure and most welcome.

I'd almost forgotten that your birthday is the day before mine. I'll have to see what I can come up with in the way of Angel/Lindsey icons for you.

I'm so glad you liked Earl! You know, I read this just nasty snobby review in the New Yorker the other day, and the writer just pissed all over it for being ungenuine and all this crap. And I just though, wow, what must your life be like if you can't just relax and enjoy this goofy, charming show? I should feel sorry for people whose asses are that tight, but they generally just piss me off.

Angel/Lindsey is unbelievably pretty. I was so all over it, until the very end of S5 sorta killed it for me. There's some great fic, though. Have you read Sea Change (http://www.thechicagoloop.net/yahtzee/chivalry/chivfic/SeaChange1.htm) by yahtzee63? Is that a dumb question? I have to close my eyes and go "la la la la" now to make myself believe in A/L, but it's pretty enough that I'm willing to try.

I haven't read that -- weirdly, the only A/L slash I've read is Zoe's, but I will definitely add that to my list.

Yeah, about CK's voice. You know, it was funny to fall for James because he comes up to my shoulder (having walked past him, I know this), and CK would probably hit just at biceps level, but... I don't care if he's tiny! All he has to do is talk and I melt, anyway. Or sing. Yum.

You know, I meant to also say that I can totally speedbump the ending of Not Fade Away. I mean, much as I love death and misery and stuff? I can totally believe in this universe that that is not the ending ending of Lindsey. I have a whole reprise movie in my head of how they come out of that fight, and how my darlings Lindsey and Wes are saved, and... it makes sense in my head! But in the Buffyverse, death is so not final.

Oh, absolutely. It's not actually his death that kills it for me, but rather that I really got the sense in You're Welcome and the eps that followed that Angel is over it. You know what I mean? He's always found Lindsey fun to torment, but the tension had all gone out of it for me by the end of YW, and I just had the impression that Angel was done. But that is completely subjective, of course. It's just how I read things. Totally with you on the "not the ending ending," though. If anyone has nine lives, it's Lindsey.

I had a similar problem with The Sentinel. By the 4th season, I just had the feeling that if they were ever going to get together, they would have by then, and it was obvious it had never happened. But I fully respect a different view. :-)

Angel/Lindsey - guh! I can hardly wait - the vibes from those two just burned the screen. I think that Lum (?) did a great Angel/Lindsey vid to "Last Dance in Cowboy Country" but I can't find it on my HD. Alas! But that's the only one I can think of and knowing you, this will be superb.

Capturing clips for this was just a riot. Most of the time they're ceaselessly yakking at each other, but when they break up the yammering, they're fighting or making this great faces at each other. They're intensely physical, waaaayyy more than most men in a TV series would allow themselves to be. I think it's great that Dave and Christian were friends before the show, because that really seems to make a difference in how they interact, how comfortable they were amping up that sublimation.
