Today's entry is also from the Lost Highway first volume, a version of Johnny Cash singing Wichita Lineman. Not only have I loved this song for like ever, I am so moved by the older, world-weary voice Cash gives to this. In his waning years, that tenuous quality in his voice could add such a moving tone to any song, but especially so to something like this with its melancholy quality. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!

For some reason this is downloading as a txt file and not an mp4, which is a bummer. Come to think of it, I think a couple other songs you posted did the same thing. Any idea what's going on?

Well, crap. I don't know. I hadn't heard that from anyone else about the mp4s so I'm not sure what's going on (also, I am super technology lameoid). I'll noodle around see if I can figure it out.

They've been working fine for me!

Also, this one now reminds me of some guy in SERE school. *g*

Well, rats, Shell, I can't figure it out. I DLed myself and it seems fine, and I've looked at the file listing at the web host. It doesn't recognize MP4s easily, and gives me a blank icon rather than a litle mp3 icon as with the other files, but it otherwise seems fine. I know this is something you've already done before, but I still feel like I should double check what you're choosing when you DL?

I downloaded it the same way I download everything, alt-click. When it first started downloading it showed the icon as a music download, but then somewhere into the download (when I didn't have that window on top, so I don't know when) it switched to a text icon. I have utterly no idea why it did it that way. I just tried it again, and it did the same thing, this time switching pretty much instantaneously to a text file, and it downloads the file with the .txt extension on it.

Okay, I think I fixed it. I renamed the file by getting rid of the .txt extension, and then it recognized it as an music file again. Which still doesn't explain why it was adding the .txt to begin with, but, hey, if it's working, who cares!

I am most definitely enjoying Moozik Week (although I do keep looking around for cows - nervous habit instilled by too much Harvest Moon, I think). And it occurs to me to ask: is there any music I can share back at you? (Warning: everything will be uploaded to YSI or similar.)
