Would anyone be interested in betaing a Laura Roslin-centric character study vid? I'm not quite finished noodling with it, but I'd like to get more than my usual one opinion, as I'm feeling very concerned about this. I'm not asking for someone who'd just want to see it first -- I want someone to answer a couple of important questions for me, so there's thinky involved. I'm happy with much of it, and I'm not interested in a full on clip by clip dissection at this point, but if there are parts that don't work, I'd like to know why the beta thinks so. (Why do I not have a Roslin or Adama icon? I need to fix this, stat.)

I have the movie on tape, and I taped all of first season for feochadn, but my access to second season disappeared a while ago, and I don't even know how much of first season Jo has around. I have this vid just burning a hole in my brain now for months and months, and I really want to make this, but am sourceless for much of what I need to do. I will of course pay postage, do whatever, if you have access.

Funny enough, I lost my SVHS tape of the pilot, and I sent the rest of my S1 tapes to Merry. But I do have all of S2 on DVDs I recorded from SVHS.

On the downside, they were recorded from TNT with the sometimes obnoxious station ID banners, and they are also a bit on the washed out side. I'd be happy to send them to you, and you can see if they're usable. I think they might be if you lowered the midlevels a bit.

That would be very cool -- the eps we did have all came off TNT anyway, so it's not like there'd be much difference, I think, and mine weren't even in SVHS, I don't think. I have no idea if Jo can even find the tapes, but if I could get second season, then we could at least try. There are some rather iconic Ian shots in 2nd season that I really need for it, since it's from his point of view about Pez.

Oooooooo... you are a temptress! That would be so cool -- and not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but do you remember what speed you might have taped them at? One of the sad things I've found about working in digital from analog is that it's really hard to get anything decent vid-wise from anything but 2-hour speed (and even then, the n00bs who have never seen anything but hi-def stuff they got off the web for free bitch and moan about the source... you can't win). This would be a lifesaver, though, if you do have them!! ::Tries not to act pathetic::

I'd be happy to beta the vid, if you like. I'm not sure what type of feedback you are looking for, so here's my background.

I am a novice vidder. I've watched Galactica seasons 1 and 2A through ONCE, when they were released on DVD. I've read a handful of fanfic in that fandom and not seen a single vid.

So if you are looking for an informed outsider opinion, I'd be happy to oblige. If you need someone closer to the fandom or more technically-inclined, best keep searching.
