gwynI know I'm going to jinx it now, and probably from here on out it'll be harder, and the vids that I enjoy the most making are usually the ones almost no one else likes besides me and one or two select peeples, and by talking about it now I'll make it crappy, but damn, this Life on Mars vid is going so well! Two minutes and 24 seconds and I only just started with a few clips last night, and have worked on it off and on today in between bouts of gardening (makes a nice break to unsweat for a little while). There's just something about this show, and the wonderful song, so it's the least painful vid I've made in ages (doesn't hurt that I'm not using much in the way of effects, which always trip me up and cause me pain).
Really, if you haven't seen this series, hie thee to a bit torrent site and get hold of it, or order the R2 DVDs if you have a multiregion player, or beg a friend to make you copies, because it's so, so worth it. greensilver and sdwolfpup have written some commentary about the episodes, and I wish I had the energy, because I feel like I should sit down and do a review, something I haven't done in an age and the thing I started this journal for. It's that great. If you have ever been a Pros fan or are now, you should also watch it -- I can't imagine any Pros fan not loving the constant little homages to the series, not to mention the great nods to other classic Brit cop series (really, I half expect Gene to bark "Shut it!" a la The Sweeney).
It's got everything I love -- serious drama, a little tragedy now and then, comedy, lightness, action, and buddy cops. Especially buddy cops who often have great antipathy toward each other and punch each other out on a regular basis. And I really need an icon, dammit. Too lazy to make on myself!

current rumor is series 2 will be it, so only 16 hours total to mine for goodies when it finally airs next year...
