I'm way behind on my pics uploading. These are a few from fall. I will post more Emma stuff at her imeem account later. And then after I get this done, I'll post some of my winter and Vancouver pics.

Mulder's sending me a message! I have no idea where it comes from, but in the early morning in fall when the light hits lower around the time I get up, there's this X in a circle on sunny mornings. It cracks me up. It stays there for an hour or so, then disappears as the sun works its way around.

I planted a persimmon tree about a decade ago, and have never gotten fruit off it. It was supposed to be self-pollinating. This year, I actually got three fruits. The squirrels, little rodent bastards, ate two of them while green (at least, they took a bite, killed it, and then left it, the fuckers), and somehow I managed to save this one till it was ready for picking. I have never had such a wonderful persimmon in my life. It was heaven.

Strawberry bush! I love the fruits on this thing, I wish they were the kind you wanted to eat. Great seed flower clusters, too.

One thing about the freaktastic weather we're having lately is that we get torrential storms and dark skies and then just a few feet away, sun. So that means rainbows.

This is the new office space, but it's not a very good pic. I didn't have everything set up yet so it's kind of a mess. I'm going to take some real pics of the office here at some point, as well as the closets. I didn't get the right side, for instance, as it was a mess.

Cabinet space! I thought these would overwhelm me, make me feel pushed in, but they don't. Now my DVD box sets all have a nice dust-free home.

My neighbor's house, when the tree fell on their van in the big storm of aught-six. Fortunately all the damage was cosmetic -- they are the nicest people and not exactly rolling in dough, and the wife/mom has a terrible condition so most of their money goes to health care. Everyone in the 'hood came by to help them move it and cut it up - shame, also, because they planted all these beautiful trees when they moved in and this was my favorite.

Oh my lord, that's not even close to a mess. You should see my desk with its impenetrable stacks of papers piled on every single available surface in a mostly haphazard manner.

P.S. I really like that persimmon picture.

I'm one of those people who can't function if I have piles of stuff around me. I assume it has something to do with my claustrophobia -- the more stuff around me, the more panicky I feel because it means less open space and more stuff I have to do. The bad problem though is that I don't often follow up with stuff once I've tucked it away. I'm totally mental, though, and I own that. ;-)

The X picture is really cool! *g*

P.S. I wasn't able to read some of your captions because LJ is making them all funky by pasting them over your links column. :P

It's not you, it's me!! I chose large pics instead of medium, and now I can't seem to fix it without obliterating the entry and having to do it all over again. Sigh. Well, lesson learned even though it's harder for everyone to read.

And I was going to send you birthday wishes on bitkahs, but you're here, so I will say I hope you are having a good b-day, and that you get to do something fun and relaxing. And that I wish for a much better year for you -- I know it's been hard, and hard to think of anything getting better, but I am putting all my wishing power behind me and hoping it works. {{{hugs you}}}}

Ooooo, I love your cabinets! They're pretty, and I like the little open shelves on the bottom. *cabinet envy* The X light is pretty, too, and eerie! Love the persimmon and strawberry pictures. Everyone I know takes such good photos! I've absorbed none of that photo-taking talent by osmosis. *pout*

You know, I love the little cubbies but they're totally deadly -- the edges are all super super sharp, and every time I stick my hand in, I forget that, and so far I have eight new scars on my knuckles from ripping skin off. Eight! My hands are going to look like a boxer's pretty soon.

We totally can! They love cold winters, so they thrive in places like this since they're a late fall and winter fruit. A lot of them need male/female tree matches, but this one was supposed to not... I have no idea what to expect next year.
