A brand new vid, hot off the... er, computer. It's a Veronica/Weevil vid, because I am just that kind of a girl. I think they were meant for each other and should get married and somehow his criminal past will be magically erased and she will become a famous FBI agent and he will be her kept husband who tinkers with cars and motorcycles and they go off on his bike and have crime-fighting hot weekends together.

I think I just wanted to make a really light, fluffy, happy vid for a change because of the usual depresso-rama after VVC that I get into. I wanted to try to make myself happy. greensilver's Veronica Mars lunch at the con really made me nostalgic for that wonderful show, and especially for my beloved Weevil. Sadly, the best we ever got on the show was a hug, and what I wouldn't have given for even a peck on the cheek, but maybe someday I'll get someone to make a photo manip of them or something.

The song has been a vid for me for years, but it wasn't till VM came on the air that I thought it could really be a vid with an actual fandom. I have a Lord King Bad Vid idea for the two, already, but I wanted to make something light and cheery. And I just had to RUSH -- I mean, I don't usually make vids this fast or give urgent requests for songs and what have you. Unfortunately I also wasted hours and hours trying to make a cute title card, but with my inability to do anything Photoshopish, I failed miserably and had to resort to plain ol' credits.

To me, the school is filled with "Jennifers" -- all the bubble-heads and vicious bitches and whiners, but Veronica never fit in with that group, even when she was in it, so she's the "her" Doughty sings of, the one who stands out from the crowd. And of course, Eli knows that so very well.

I didn't get this beta'd so it might suck, but I was happy with it, I guess, and didn't really feel like getting my glow tarnished by anything critical -- which isn't to say that if you have something critical, you can't say it, because you can, now that it's done and out there. I believe anything that's out there is fair game for comments of any kind. I hope you have as much fun watching as I did making.

I downloaded it immediately, and watched it twice before I had to dash out of the house to get to a meeting on time, and now that I'm home I'm watching it again!

I just adore it. On the most shallow, surface level my response is: omg they are so pretty. I just -- Weevil! I have such a crush on Weevil. His arms and his chest and his shaved head and his ink and the way he walks and those eyelashes. And I always forget how adorable Veronica is, and how fierce, and how awesome.

This is such a perfect song. There's something about Mike Doughty that really fits the feel of Neptune, for me. And oh, man, yes, 27 Jennifers -- all of the girls of Neptune High, the 09'ers, everyone who looked down on Weevil or looked past him. And then there's Veronica, who sees him from the get-go.

I love the cut from Weevil in the restaurant pursing his lips, to Weevil making kissyface at Veronica. :-) And Veronica's glee at "you might be the one I'm seeking for -- Veronica in her Christmas hat!

And the shift from "27 Jennifers" to Veronica in all her guises. The many faces of Veronica Mars. And ending with them on the bike! I just adore it, so much.

Oh my god, AWESOME. This makes me grin and at the same time (and actually, for the first time in a while) miss VM. I love what you did with the cropped frames, or whatever you would call that effect -- it works really nicely with the song's quirky tone and emphasizes the pile-up of all those useless Jennifers. Useless except the one that Weevil's been seeking for, of course. (And yes, he and Veronica were totally MFEO. I am with you.)

(Also, how much do I adore that you vidded a Mike Doughty song? EEE. He is totally my wisecracking songwriter crush.)

I am so glad you liked it!!! Coming from the only person I know who's used a Soul Coughing/Doughty song, that is exceptional news. He has such a great voice, especially for this kind of theme, and it sounds like nothing else out there, which adds to the whole feel (because Veronica and Weevil are like nothing else out there!).

This is so totally adorable, and it made me so very happy, and cheered me no end! I wasn't particularly a Veronica/Weevil girl, but in retrospect he's just about the only guy that I think could keep up with her, and he's definitely the only one that was really always there for her.

Sorry it took me so long to reply -- life gets in the way! I'm so glad it made you happy (you probably need a lot of that after the con is over). He really is the only one who could ever seem to keep up with her or keep her on her toes. I loved the way he always rescued her, and she him -- I don't know of any other relationship quite like that on TV, and I did totally love the friendship angle (but I'm such a smooshie hearted girl that I couldn't help wishing for other things).

Thank you! Yes, it ended, unfortunately, after the third season, I guess it would be 2007. It was never really supported when the WB and UPN merged, and things kind of went downhill, but the potential for S4 looked really good, so it is such a crying shame.

Yes, he totally didn't put up with her, except when he so obviously wanted to -- and I loved how they were always helping each other out, no matter what else was going on or even if they didn't want to. He was one of the few guys on that show besides Wallace who could be her equal.
