Sunday, the day of... yardwork

Lost pretty much all day yesterday, again, another great day for yardwork, to many things, so that means today I have to try to cram in a week's worth of not doing anything to make up for it all. If it wasn't for the remodel/addition thing, I think I would have tried to take advantage of the down market and sell this thing and get a condo where I had no space to maintain. There's just so MUCH of it. What I'd really love to do is have a landscaping company come in and build me some nice hardscapes that will take away much of the weed factor. But that is for a time when I will have money, which I doubt will ever be the case again.

But the big news is that I finished the auction vid I made for kadymae for this year's Vividcon, and sent it off to the tech people, and yay. It was really fun being able to create something for such a great person, and someone who loves this fandom (the Fast and the Furious franchise) as much as I do. It has Dom and Brian, and Brian and Rome, and Han and Sean and DK, and more Dom and Brian. Also starring the cars. Because they are as important to the movies as the stars.

The bad part is that now I'm not sure I can capture all the clips for the Mad Men vid I wanted to make for premieres in time. I only have six eps clipped so far, and there are two more discs just for S1 alone, let's not even talk about S2. I just don't know if I can make the deadline, which is only about three weeks from now, and I'm a bit panicky about it, but I have so much other stuff to do that getting time for capturing has been impossible. ::cries:: Vidding season is hard, y'all. It comes right during garden season. And class season.

OK, now off to toil. No day of rest for this heathen.

Oh pleeeeeeease finish the Mad Men vid. Pleeeeeease. I'm dying to see a good Mad Men vid and at Premieres would be fabulous. I know what you mean though, I'm worried about the deadline and I'm still clipping but I'm trying to clear my schedule so I have time. I hope you find some time to do it!

I will try!! I just found out though that I don't have ep 13 from second season, so now I have to try to figure out how to get it (I don't torrent). I don't remember enough of what happened to be sure I need any clips from it, but I'd like to see just in case.

And yard work...yeah, don't miss that part of my house at all. I spent 2 afternoons tidying and replanting my balcony garden and that was more than enough for me. Good luck.

I am working on a vid now, and am in that first flush of excitement -- but also aware that once I finish a draft, and let it sit for a few days, I will probably only see everything that sucks about it! *g* I'm torn between really wanting to bring a vid (it's honestly thanks to Vividcon that I ever started to vid in the first place) and feeling keenly aware of what a beginner I am and how unsophisticated my stuff is going to look there. So... probably I will not get this finished in a way that I'm happy with in time, anyway! But I wish I could.

You know, seriously, I think even the most experienced vidders around have the same feelings. We all know we suck. So maybe that's a sign -- you know that whole thing where the people who suck think they're great, and the people who are competent and smart think they're terrible? So it's probably a really good sign!

So, so, so true. I wish vidding season were September-January. I'd get so much done with it being dark and rainy all the time. Heh.
