Running on empty

I see by the flood of posts of Vividcon vids that I am way behind, but I've been busy encoding and trying to upload files to a streaming site. I have had a lot of trouble though -- both encoding and just getting everything to come out okay, and trying Viddler again, but it won't let me upload my premieres vid, though it did let me upload my auction and Club Vivid ones. WTF. I hate this streaming shit and once again I curse all the Imeem people and their future generations and hope they get syphilis.

So, yeah, that's why there's nothing there yet. Soon, though. Maybe tomorrow. Some of it is sheer enervation, though. Flight was about two hours late last night -- I thought it would be a good idea to save money by leaving on Sunday night, but I should have known better with O'Hare's daily waxy buildup of lateness upon lateness upon lateness until you reach some sort of alternate universe where time is irrelevant to everyone except you. Thunderstorms, plane issues, headwinds, what have you -- and the thing is, I was just ragged with bone-deep fatigue and depression, so the lateness made things much worse.

Overall I can't say it was a disaster or as bad as a couple years ago when I had bronchitis/laryngitis, but it was close. Just enough bad things happening and piling up that even seeing some of my favorite people in the world couldn't break me out of it, and on Saturday night I had a big crying meltdown because of some things that had happened earlier and at karaoke and poor wickedwords, who God knows has enough troubles of her own, felt the need to gather some of the local gang together and feed me the chocolate in my room in an attempt to shore me up, when they could all have been spending time with people they don't normally get to see. I did really miss a couple people who weren't there, especially flummery.

Anyways, I'll spare people the woe is me details of the weekend, and just say that I got to see some favorite folks, meet some new favorite folks, and we even got to have lunch with spasticat, who lives in Chicago and came by to hang out with us even though she wasn't at the con. That was awesome. I had fun doing vid review on Sunday with jarrow, whose excellent Fourth Grade Teacher Skills really helped keep things on track. (Srsly, melina123, I really did enjoy it!) Also, Dorinda brought me cheese curds from Wisconsin, and that is like having the magi bring you gold, frankincense, and myrrh, I tell you whut.

The cats could not have cared less that I was home except for: [Olive]Oh thank God, now you can finally let me outside you abandoning bitch, and [Blues]Oh hey, you're home, maybe I'll get up off the window perch if you think you might be giving us treats. Sigh. I am unloved even by the animal kingdom.

I never had a chance to check email or flist, and even reading a small filter today, I'm still nowhere near caught up and haven't made many comments on posts, though I hope to do that a little more tonight. I have to get ready for the big teefs appointment tomorrow -- I get my aligners.

So I'll try to do some more commentary especially about vids I saw and about the review panel if I can remember some of the stuff John and I discussed, and what audience members said, a bit later.

Chocolate does help so well especially when friends help in feeding it to oneself. Sounds like you had good pals at the con. :)

It was awesome to meet you and everyone else even if for so briefly. If I had been more energetic I would've stayed longer but...I'm a delicate flower and had to get home to the neurotic cats.

Your cats...equally neurotic. You'd think after so much time away they'd be like, "Yay! gwyn_r is back! Let us commence in smothering her in love!" Alas...then that would mean they were actually dogs disguised as cats.
