31 Flavors: Catching up with 2 recs

Two years ago at Vividcon, I kept telling everyone that I had won at Vividcon that year. I won for a number of reasons, but the two biggest ones are my recs today.

I had bid on absolutedestiny in the VVC auction that year and won, and he persevered through my waffling over song choice to create for me a vid of my dreams to the movie The Navigator (not to be confused with Flight of the Navigator). When I showed it to people who hadn't been at the con, everyone was kind of speechless and someone said, "That's not just a vid, that's a work of art." And it really is. Ian took this amazing movie and made it even more amazing, and I treasure this vid like crazy.

But wait, there's more! I also won because we'd initially talked about the possibility of him doing an Alien(s) vid about Ripley, who is my hero. One of the reasons I'd bid on him was that he'd mentioned wanting to do Ripley or Terminator movies' Sarah Connor for Festivids, and I'd remembered that and thought it would finally be my chance to get a vid about those amazing women. Even after I dithered about the song, Ian still made the Ripley vid for the Premieres show, and dedicated it to me, and I was really amazed at such thoughtfulness. It is SUCH a great vid, and it was a great reminder that even sometimes when you don't think a song is right, in the hands of a great vidder, it can be exactly perfect and you should have faith.

Stupid iPad!! Man, I just hate trying to copy links with that fucking thing. It never works when i do more than one. Thanks for letting me know -- it's hilarious that 24 hours have gone by but no one mentioned it before! I guess you really can tell that journals are dying that way.
