Both of the tribute vids at the Escapade vid show came in too late to be included on the con dvds, and I don't know if the vidder of the Lewis Collins tribute will put hers up online, but I have finally had the chance to put mine up on YouTube. I'll try to post a downloadable version at my web site soon.

Working on this vid was really hard. I used to make fun of PW's acting back in my early days in The Fast and the Furious fandom, his surfer dude persona, but over the years I grew to really like him, as he'd really committed himself to his work as an actor and it showed -- a lot. But as much of an improvement as he showed, and as many different types of projects as he put himself into, it all paled in comparison to how much I admired him as a person with the role he took on as a dad, and the charitable work he performed. It just destroys me that someone who was trying to do good in the world is gone and so many awful, horrible people remain. And then there was his incandescent smile -- something I don't think anyone could help but fall under the spell of.

I miss you, Paul. You were one of the good guys.

Paul is one of the very few celebrities whose death *really* hurt - normally I don't get all wrapped up in actors, but he was just so genuine. I loved the many sources you used, esp. Pleasantville (one of my fave movies) and that it wasn't all F&F (though of course those movies are high my list as well

All of this. Totally seconded.

(I didn't even realise that he was in Pleasantville until I saw gwyn's tribute, and I've seen it twice (um, not recently, in my defence?) He had a surprisingly varied career? And pretty prolific, too. And somehow, along the way, I've watched most of the stuff he was in. He was always so enjoyable, and just really likeable as an actor, despite being wildly not my type *g*)

Aw, I thought this was a really sweet tribute. It made me want to go back and watch all of his movies again. ♥

Incandescent smile is the best possible description, and this is such a lovely, moving and kind vid. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. I was nothing like a fanatical Paul Walker person, I didn't even know he had a child until he died, but I liked him plenty - he had such a likeable quality, even where another actor with the same looks and talents would be so easy to dislike - at least for me. I kind of rooted for him?

Anyway, thank you for making this, and for sharing.

You did such a beautiful job with this. As you know, I only recently got into F&F fandom, and a lot of that is thanks to Paul Walker. It took me a while to appreciate him, both as an actor and as a person, but once I did, I fell for him hard—especially behind the scenes. Thank you for making a vid that was such a fitting tribute to him.

….You know where this is going, right? I'm falling hard for the least popular pairing of the whole bunch. Of course I am. *facehands*

Beautiful. And just like you said, I used to dis Paul's acting ability but came to admire the man a great deal. My first real fandom was F&F and I came into it via Vin Diesel but my love for the series came to be embodied in Brian/Paul's indomitable spirit. You're right - he was truly one of the good guys and he'll be missed.

Thank you! Yeah, I never, ever would have guessed he'd leave us so young, so full of promise. I really felt like in a lot of ways he was just beginning his career, his life. Arg.

That was lovely. You're the one who got me into the F&F fandom, way back when, with your meta, fic, and vids. It feels both sad and fitting to see such a moving tribute vid to Paul Walker by you. Thanks very much for making it.

Aw, thank you. I get my passions and even though they might dim a bit with time, they never leave me, so I hope that as long as Paul's memory is still here, I will have that passion.

This was so beautiful. It made me cry. I love Paul Walker, from F&F to Pleasantville, even his work in Flags of Our Fathers and Takers. I'm going to miss him and his generous spirit--what I knew of it--for a long, long time.

Aw, thank you, sweetie. Believe me, I know about the crying. Even just trying to create the files, I cried. It was just a never ending cryfest.
