Haircut 100
Dec. 27th, 2003 03:16 pmSo, I decided to whack off about four inches or so of my hair and try a new 'do. I've never been one to waffle about decisions like buying things or cutting hair; once I've made up my mind, that's it. I saw a picture of Cate Blanchett where I liked her hairstyle, but the person cutting my hair last month decided that my having made up my mind on the spot that that's what I wanted was bad, and talked me out of it. I guess it's only in my creative endeavors that I waffle; I'd edit a story to death if I didn't post it, because I'm never happy and always think I'm making the wrong choices. Same with vids -- I usually end up hating them because I later second guess all my clip choices.
For those of you who know me, this won't seem too radical, but it's shorter, especially in back, and I can carefully dishevel it easier than with my other style. That's what I'm doing when the self timer caught me -- trying to see if I can carefully dishevel it again (alas, no go). I'm hair impaired. The stylists never believe I want to grow out my bangs (fringe, for you UK folks). So this growing out project is going to be somewhat difficult and time consuming. And for those of you who don't know me, now you can point and laugh at what I actually look like. Plus, there's a new picture of the puss, because I had to. This digital thing is weird though -- colors sure don't render anything like real life (that throw she's hiding under is purple). I suppose it takes all the mystique out of one's online persona to actually let people see what you look like, doesn't it? Hmm, might be worth rethinking. ;-)
I think it's very cruel of nature to make one both ugly and unphotogenic. It seems like you could be one or the other, but not both -- I've certainly seen unattractive folks whom the camera did not hate. Nature is sadistic, if you ask me. Hmpf.
