Instead of working in the (still jungle-like) garden or capturing vid clips, I spent all last night working on this so I could meet my obligations. The next part of the Fast and the Furious WIP Ciudad de Estrellas Part 6: Business is up here. It's about 9,500+words.
Thanks to
mlyn and
movies_michelle for the betas. Once again I don't know how or why people post things without having editors, because damn, they save you from yourself. I write the stupidest things sometimes, and I would die from shame if they made it into print.

Your journal subheading is cracking me up, btw.

Date: 2005-05-26 08:52 pm (UTC)Oh the angst! Oh the drama! Oh the sex!
Y'know, you wonder sometimes how Dom survived Lompoc being such a drama queen. But on the other hand, it just seems to be Brian that brings it out in him. He sure seemed to keep his cool around Tony. I guess it was just the pressure of trying to fight what he feels for Brian.
I like the way you're developing the feelings between Brian and Dom. Neither of them have said anything about ever being attracted to guys before, but they've never done anything about it (we don't count Lompoc, that's extreme circumstances, not life choices). It's not a 'suddenly gay' thing either. It's like when they look at one another they're not homosexual or heterosexual, they're Briansexual and Domsexual, which is totally hot and really kinda romantic.
And this:
He pulled Brian up, resting his head on his thigh. "It's okay, baby. Don't move."
Again Brian laughed. He looked up at Dom with those spooky blue eyes. "Did you just call me baby?"
He made a half-hearted attempt at a smile. "I'm Italian, I call everyone baby. Don't let it go to your head."
Even in the midst of the drama and suspense this made me laugh. Then I realized that nere seconds had passed really and that Brian was already getting shocky and I started to get worried again.
Gah! Cliffhanger much?
And lastly, I found 3 itty bitty teensy weensy typos. And I swear that I wasn't looking for them because I'm so jealous that you write so beautifully or with so much perception or anything. *G* Let me know if you want them and I'll send them off list.

Date: 2005-05-26 09:30 pm (UTC)You know, someone once got really confrontational with me when I said that Dom was a total drama queen. Like you can't be macho and a drama queen. I said, oh, geez, just look at him after the race, with those arms up in the air, going "look at me" -- and that's just the positive stuff. How could anyone think that whole stepping out into the light from the dark in the catching Brian in the garage scene wasn't all dramatic? Or the freaking final race? That's what I love about him -- he's a totally macho, terse, tough drama queen. There are not a lot of those around, I'd wager.
I thought about writing it farther after the shooting, but it seemed like a good place to stop. Especially since I think it'll get really boring now, but that's just me.

Date: 2005-05-27 12:38 am (UTC)hot sex, mucho action thrills and of course a massive cliffhanger; now I'm all verklempt over Brian's injury, but almost moreso over Dom's reaction. I'm completely wound up in this; thanks for feeding my addiction!

Date: 2005-05-27 04:26 am (UTC)Don't worry *too* much about Brian... or at least, his injury. That's not going to be the hard part for him. ;-)

Date: 2005-05-27 01:08 am (UTC)this really is a great chapter, the pacing is perfect and jsut the...gah. Phrases that I'm going to have to write down so I don't outright steal them they've become hardwired in my brain.
Really, really nice work, Gwyn. Thank you.

Date: 2005-05-27 04:28 am (UTC)I don't know what it is about cliffhangers but I love that kind of "dum dum DUM" big flourish before the commercial break, or something. Christy told me I did that all through Lucifer Match. I guess it's my rut, but I like my rut!
