The Measure of a Man Chapter 10: Monsters and Angels is up now, in which Willow casts a spell, cryptic messages are delivered, and Buffy gets a visitor.

Thanks to sweet_ali for sticking with me on this long, long drive.

Yay! I like it a lot. All the characters ring true, and it's interesting to see how S7 is getting reworked for this plot. I prefer your version, especially with the First taking on Angel's face and there actually being an explanation on the Sunnydale side for Willow hightailing it to LA. Congrats for getting another chapter up.

Oh, your timing is impeccable. I started rereading it a few days ago and just finished a couple of hours ago and I'd totally forgotten you'd ended with Spike being dead! So you can see how glad I was to see him up and about again.

I love how you're tying everything together with season 7 and the storylines on Angel, and now I can't wait to see how you're planning to resolve everything, because things seem to be coming to a head.

I was wondering a bit about this line:
"We Spike came back.
Is there supposed to be an ellipses?

Oh, that is cool timing! I fear that many of the people who've started it have given up and gone home by now, so I'm glad to know that there are still people reading and finding it.

Yes, that was supposed to be ellipses. It just infuriates me that when I write something on my Windows computer, all the ellipses disappear into "special" characters and my old WYSIWYG web program can't read them. I search and replace in my mac, where I can have the settings so that no special characters cross my path, but it sometimes doesn't catch them all. Grrrr. I think there are many more missing ones since I tend to use them a lot for certain characters' voices, but I've fixed that one and a couple others I spied nearby.

Also very relieved that Spike is back and undead. It goes without saying of course that the cliffie in Chap. 9 was totally evile. ;)

You cannot keep a good Spike down, I believe. And he's got lots of work to do ahead of him! It is my fervent desire that I am able to wrap this up in a decent time and not keep stringing it out for so long.
