New Buffy- and Angelverse vid

I've been trying to get a decent compression with Divx avi for a while now on this vid, but it isn't happening, and between my constant gallbladder attacks (of which I'm having one right now, arg) and
feochadn's schedule, we haven't been able to try her setup out to see if we'll get something better. So, in the meantime, I'm putting up an old-fashioned MP4 with a small 320x240 window. I'm sorry for the tiny size, but it is a lot clearer than what I'm getting with Divx right now. Whenever Jo and I can figure out a better format, I'll put that up, but in the meantime, I hope you can enjoy this even though it's small.
This is just the silly fluff. About a year ago I put up a poll for what vid I should do next, and the "lightweight, humorous Buffy and Angel all-cast vid" won by a longshot. I didn't feel up to making it then, but I finally got around to it. ETA: In my pain from last night, I forgot to acknowledge
mlyn for creating the little animation on the credits, and
killabeez for the beta.

They're the women of the Buffyverse. You got a problem with that?
Vids page is here. Still passworded, but here it is:

Date: 2006-09-21 06:50 am (UTC)I'm glad you did finally get this made, because I think it's really successful and will go over well at any Buffyverse fan gathering. Congrats on finishing!

Date: 2006-09-21 08:35 pm (UTC)I love the transitions from the sort of grainy, silent-film-looking black-and-white into color (and back to b-&-w, and then back to color) -- that contrast between the two visual styles really tugs at me in interesting ways.
(And having just seen S1 for the first time, I giggled a lot at the clips from "Teacher's Pet" and -- oh, what's the one where Amy's mother is dropping Barbie figures into the cauldron? well, anyway, my point was, recognizing context makes everything funnier.)
And wow, the male characters on Buffy take quite a beating, don't they? And that's without even some of the darker and more sexual stuff between Buffy and Spike -- which I'm glad you didn't include, actually, because it would have changed the feel of the vid in weird ways.
In a word: lovely!

Date: 2006-09-21 09:08 pm (UTC)I love some of the more unexpected clip choices, like Ripper jumping happily when Buffy punches Ethan, and Oz gobsmacked by Willow on Halloween. And the final clip is just *perfect* -- it's a very powerful ending.
::glee:: My show!

Date: 2006-10-02 02:17 pm (UTC)You know I think it’s as much the male reactions as the female actions that make the vid. My current favourite is the cut from Spike stalking Buffy for the first time to Glory’s minions coming over all dreamy but Angel’s facial contortions in response to Queen C of Pylea come a close second.
