OMG, you guys, I totally <3 White Collar! But then I kinda knew I would. Anyone who's watched Chuck knows how H-O-T-T hot Matt Bomer is, and I adore Tim DeKay (especially because he will always be Dean from Big Eden to me). Loved the Rat Pack look on Neal, loved that for once an FBI agent is smart and literate and competent instead of stupid in comparison to the criminal, loved that there seems to be a nicely rounded cast backing them up (especially the "Um, she would wear the hat"). And how awesome is it to see Diahann Carroll on TV again? She is so, so wonderful.

I have only one bone to pick, and that's the reference to Neal being in supermax. That is so very not a supermax facility he was in, and a criminal like Neal would not even be in a supermax prison, anyway. He probably wouldn't even be a max security facility, but let's just say he was. At least the wife gets it right, I don't know where the supermax thing came from. There aren't even that many supermax prisons out there, anyway, and they're sure not filled with white collar criminals.

This will fill in nicely for my happy-making Burn Notice hiatuses. It's very much a USA type show right now, but they've found a winning formula for the channel and this is an excellent addition.

Tim DeKay is wonderful! I'm really impressed, the show is worth watching for him alone. Matt Bomer isn't a very good actor, but if he takes his shirt off for no reason in every episode, he can stay.

It's on Hulu (http://www.hulu.com/watch/104368/white-collar-pilot).

Also there's a rerun Sunday at 10am our time, and Monday at 10pm our time.

Must. Have. Icon.

Also? Your icon is more apt than you know. :D

Did you see the "Scenes from upcoming episodes" that followed the show?

I did, a couple times, but I don't remember seeing TedAdam Arkin. Though I remember seeing practically everyone else!

Go here (http://www.usanetwork.com/series/whitecollar/) and click on the video in the right-hand column called "All new episode Friday 10/9C." Neal is "patting down" a suspect, and Peter and two other agents are watching on a monitor. Natalie Morales (from Middleman) is the woman, and Adam Arkin is the man.

Who should play his Father?

I do like the show in spite of the fact it totally ripped off one of the great shows of my youth.

I have been considering how to complete the casting. We have an Alexander Mundy and a Noah Bain already, but we need someone to play the father of the lead. Since Fred Astaire is no longer available I have been debating whether to cast another retired dancer or just cast Robert Wagner for the symmetry. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062572/

Suggestions, please.

I was trying to think of it less as ripped off than as... a 21st century update. ;-) But you know, I want very much to love it so it's easier to feel that way, because I've really longed for exactly that, an update of It Takes a Thief for a new gen. But I have to say, this version of Noah is a little more appealing to me (I totally understand why that's of no significance to you!).

I totes think they should cast Robert Wagner as his dad!! It will save him from having to do those infomercial thingies. And Wagner has always been a cool cat.

Wasn't this great? It was everything I was expecting from the commercials and more. I loved that Neal was cocky but still kind of sweet and vulnerable.

You're right, that definitely wasn't supermax he was in, but I think the reason he might have been put there was because of the high likelihood of escape.

I've watched it four times already (mostly by accident). I guess that says something.

So right about the supermax - he could have theoretically been there if he had killed someone in prison, but I don't think they intended to imply that - if anything they were pretty clear about implying that he is completely nonviolent.

But even so, it was a fantastic first episode. The hat, the fraud hijinx, the slash potential :)

I was also picking apart the type of printing press they used with someone last night, but I only pick because I love. ;-) Or something like that. I so hope they can keep it up and keep it as smart and adorable.

Halfway through I figured out the character forumula: Gregory House + Darien Fawkes = Neal Caffrey, and James Wilson + Bobby Hobbes = Peter Burke.

omg love. Immediately went on Season Pass, and I devoured everything I could on the website. In the video interviews, the actors kept talking about the Neal/Peter relationship - even Tiffani Thiessen's!

I'm so glad it was included in Yuletide. I had seen a couple extended clips they ran on USA and pretty much knew it was going to be a hit, but for some reason it didn't occur to me to nominate it, prolly because I'm still a Yuletide newbie. Can't wait to see more and I'm hoping to hell they can keep it up!

Finally saw it, completely adore it. Busy smishing Tim DeKay. ♥ Once Burn Notice is back, if they would pair those two shows up it'd be like I done died and went to TV Heaven!
